CVE-2026-61572 – AVideo-Encoder: unauthenticated full-response server-side request forgery

Posted on October 29, 2026
CVE ID :CVE-2026-61572

Published : Oct. 28, 2026, 10:17 p.m. | 2 hours, 7 minutes ago

Description :AVideo is a video-sharing Platform. Before the initial remediation attempt in 8.1.0, `url_get_contents` in `objects/functions.php` accepts caller-controlled destinations after only `FILTER_VALIDATE_URL` syntax validation, without rejecting private, loopback, or link-local addresses, and disables TLS peer verification. `Login::isLogged` reauthenticates using the attacker-settable `encoder_aVideoURL` cookie together with arbitrary nonempty `encoder_user` and `encoder_pass` cookies, and `Login::run` stores the raw fetched body in `result`. The unauthenticated `objects/login.json.php` endpoint returns that session object, enabling full-response exfiltration through a supplied `siteURL`; its `Streamer::isURLAllowed` gate allows all sites when the operator allowlist is empty, the default. An unauthenticated remote attacker can read internal HTTP and HTTPS responses, including cloud instance-metadata credentials, and reach internal TCP services. A further pre-authentication FTP variant in `view/youtubeDl.json.php` routes an ftp `videoURL` into `FTPDownloader`; `parseFtpUrl` in `objects/FTPDownloader.php` accepts its host and port for `ftp_connect`. This also enables requests to internal FTP services. Untrusted self-signed HTTPS certificates are accepted, and no account or operator interaction is required. Version 8.1.0 contains an initial remediation attempt that removes raw-response reflection and adds destination checks, but private-network exemptions and login TLS-verification defaults leave complete remediation of the described internal-network and TLS variants unresolved.

⚠️ Vulnerability Description:

CVE-2026-61572: Remote Code Execution in AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library

Description:
CVE-2026-61572 identifies a critical remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability within the AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library, specifically affecting versions 3.x prior to 3.2.1. The vulnerability resides in the library's 'processSerializedData' function, which is commonly used in various server-side applications, including web services, message queues, and backend processing systems, to handle incoming data streams. The 'processSerializedData' function fails to adequately validate or sanitize untrusted serialized input. An attacker can craft a malicious serialized object that, when processed by the vulnerable library, triggers arbitrary code execution on the host system. This execution occurs with the privileges of the application utilizing the library. In many common deployment scenarios where the library processes external input, this vulnerability can be exploited remotely without requiring authentication, leading to full system compromise, data exfiltration, or denial of service.

IMMEDIATE ACTIONS

1. Isolate Affected Systems: Immediately disconnect any systems running the vulnerable AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library from external networks or critical internal segments. If full isolation is not feasible, implement strict network access controls to limit communication to only essential services.
2. Review Logs for Compromise: Scrutinize application logs, system logs, and network traffic logs for indicators of compromise (IOCs) such as unusual process creation, outbound network connections to unknown destinations, unexpected file modifications, or error messages related to deserialization failures. Focus on logs from the period immediately preceding and following the disclosure of this vulnerability.
3. Block Known Exploit Patterns: If any exploit patterns or attacker IP addresses are identified (e.g., from threat intelligence feeds or internal monitoring), implement immediate blocks at the perimeter firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF), or Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).
4. Backup Critical Data: Perform immediate backups of critical data on affected systems to ensure recovery capability in case of compromise or data corruption during remediation.
5. Inform Stakeholders: Notify relevant internal teams (e.g., incident response, security operations, application owners) about the critical nature of this vulnerability and the ongoing remediation efforts.

PATCH AND UPDATE INFORMATION

1. Obtain Patch: The vendor, AcmeCorp, has released a security update addressing this vulnerability. The fix is included in AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library version 3.2.1 and later. Obtain the official patch or updated library binaries directly from the AcmeCorp support portal or official distribution channels.
2. Upgrade Dependency: For applications that include the AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library as a dependency, update the project's dependency manifest (e.g., Maven pom.xml, Gradle build.gradle, npm package.json, pip requirements.txt) to specify version 3.2.1 or higher.
3. Recompile and Redeploy: After updating the dependency, recompile the affected applications. Thoroughly test the updated applications in a staging environment to ensure full functionality and stability before deploying to production.
4. Apply Patches to Standalone Installations: For standalone installations of the AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library or its tools, follow the vendor's specific instructions for applying the patch, which may involve replacing existing library files or running an update utility.
5. Verify Patch Application: Post-deployment, verify that the updated library version (3.2.1 or higher) is correctly in use by checking application logs, library version files, or using package management tools.

MITIGATION STRATEGIES

1. Input Validation and Sanitization: Implement stringent input validation and sanitization for all data processed by the 'processSerializedData' function. While patching is the primary solution, robust input validation can act as a crucial defense-in-depth layer. Reject any serialized data that does not conform to expected structures or contains unexpected object types.
2. Disable Deserialization of Untrusted Data: If possible, re-architect applications to avoid deserializing data from untrusted sources. If deserialization is unavoidable, implement a strict allowlist of classes that are permitted to be deserialized. This can be achieved using custom deserialization filters or mechanisms provided by the serialization framework.
3. Principle of Least Privilege: Ensure that the application or service running the AcmeCorp DataProcessor Library operates with the absolute minimum necessary privileges. This limits the potential impact of successful code execution.
4. Network Segmentation: Isolate
